Gas Springs / Standard

Gas Springs / Standard
Explanation

TURKAS standard gas springs are self-extended and self-pressurized force generating products which consist of a pressurized tube, piston rod, and inner parts such as the piston and seal which provide the function and sealing feature. A gas spring performs a hydropneumatic and thus comfortable solution to handle the lifting, balancing, and damping of different kind of caps, hatches, lids and doors.

TURKAS standard gas springs are designed and manufactured based on the most binding Quality procedures dictated by ISO 9001 and they serve to the satisfaction of each customer’s requirements.

Working Principles

Gas springs are one of the best solutions for handling the weight and they provide force assist against it while opening and closing a cap or hatch. When a hatch is opened, the force coming from the weight is thus faced by the gas spring. This is how gas springs make it easier to open and close heavy doors and lids comfortably.Technical wise; a gas spring works by the transition of the pressurized nitrogen gas on the cross-sectional area of the piston rod, which brings the extension force of the product. This happens when the piston rod is pushed by the weight of the cap. Standard gas springs stand in extended position if they are not pressurized. In addition, there is a small amount of oil in gas springs which minimize the friction among inner parts and also ensures the damping function which means a comfortable opening and closing, that’s to say safe and user-friendly motion cycles.

Advantages
  • A big variety of sizes, force variations, and connection part combinations
  • Compact and flat design, small space occupation
  • Quick and simple assembly/mounting
  • Flat spring characteristic curve; i.e., low force increase, even for high forces or large strokes
  • Linear, progressive, or degressive spring characteristic curve
Applications
  • Automotive Applications
  • Industrial and Agricultural Equipment
  • Utility, Travel, and Cargo Trailers
  • Trunk, Gate, and Hatch Lift Supports
  • Bus, Truck, and Aircraft Cargo Door Gas Springs
Sizes

Available with body diameters of 12 to 48 mm and forces from 10 to 5000N, TURKAS standard gas springs are characterized by a huge variety and maximum service life. The first is achieved thanks to the number of available connections and fittings for simple attachment and the later with high quality design and materials. Whether they are made of steel or stainless steel, these components make any work easier and also make a particularly good impression visually in every branch.
